Lucas and Adam’s fostering journey started five years ago when they were introduced to New Routes Fostering agency. Adam said, “For us, it was really important to play a part in providing a safe and happy environment for children whose welfare wasn’t being met. We were introduced to New Routes Fostering by my auntie who has been fostering with them for approximately 20 years.” Lucas said: “We were fortunate that we had some awareness of what fostering involved which helped with the initial contact with the agency.  Although we were a little apprehensive of the unknown, we need not have been as the staff was approachable and friendly resulting in a smooth transition from making the initial call to being approved as foster carers.   “We currently have three children in our care, two of whom are siblings.  All three have been matched with us long-term. We also had three short-term respite placements.    New Routes Fostering is keen to dispel myths.  A member of staff from the agency advis

WhatsOn's music editor, Adam Humphries, offers you some uplifting songs that was just released. Make a playlist with them and dance the rest of the week away. Here is the best playlist of the week! Holly Henderson returns with a uniquely fresh, retro-infused new single - 'Wendy' Whomever this Wendy is she's got a good friend in Holly Henderson as she reaches out to her in this heartwarming melody. Like many other artists, Holly wears her heart on her sleeve as she pours her emotions into this track. Holly's singing is soft and entirely encapsulating as it's like she's singing to you and only you in your ear. Wendy is about the promise of not being abandoned when you're not there. When stripped back to just a voice and a guitar everything is completely raw and exposed as nothing is held back. It's just your voice, guitar, and you. The twist in this is that it's about the artist's dog, but still a good song either way. https://open.spotify.com/

When we read, we improve our empathy and memory. We feel better and become more positive in our life by reading books. This paramount habit can also improve our mental and physical health. Here, Wednesday Wisdom presents some sterling books to keep your brain fit and healthy and to curl you up on the couch. A Room of One's Own, By Virginia Woolf Virginia Woolf's "A Room of One's Own" is a classic progressive book that deals with feminist criticisms and steam-of-consciousness style.  In this book, Woolf develops a relationship between gender and writing. She asserts that a woman must have money and a room of her own if she wants to write fiction or something. She believes that social prejudices and financial & educational backward are the reason for women's lack of knowledge and creativity. I recommend all women to read this Victorian classic novel because this is a temperamental feminist text where they can find their struggle for privacy, leisure time, an

My Ladyboy Date was created out of the need for a decent dating site for Asian trans women. This was in 2013 when the word ladyboy was more commonly used in Asia than the word trans or transgender. Now, the term ladyboy is considered offensive to many trans women around the world. In Asia, where the term originated, it’s also slowly falling out of fashion. So why does a popular and trustworthy niche dating site like My Ladyboy Date want to stay ladyboy-focused if the term brings so much criticism? 1. The term is still used by many Asian trans women Different cultures have different practices. What might seem offensive to one might be well-accepted by others. Many Asian trans women still describe and refer to themselves as ladyboys. They are comfortable with using that term and it would be respectful to use it if that’s what they prefer. 2. There are still trans-oriented individuals who look for ladyboys. There are trans-oriented men who seek out trans women for serious relationships pa

Autistic People Lack Empathy? I'd Like to Dispute That  A couple of months ago, during a random snoop on Twitter, I came across a post which both greatly interested me. It was from another profile which I happen to be following on the platform. But it's what was said that caught my attention, and for a few reasons.
