On November 25, 2023, three Palestinian students were shot in Burlington, Vermont. The suspect, 48-year-old Jason Eaton, is being held without bail and is charged with three counts of attempted second-degree murder. The shooting is being investigated as a possible hate crime. The three victims, Hisham Awartani, Kinnan Abdalhamid, and Tahseen Ali Ahmad, are all college students who were shot while walking by Eaton's porch.
