And…… this week, Shoilee joined us for an exclusive Whatson Show appearance. She talked about her musical beginnings with Sanjida Tanmoy. Shoilee revealed in a conversation with our editor that she had always wanted to be a musician. She had plenty of time as she finished her BBA to devote herself wholeheartedly to her ideal career. In a conversation with our editor, she added that she would be releasing a new solo album very soon—hopefully before the end of 2023. She indicated that, up until this point, she had only performed background vocals or streamed music for dramas or other people. She then crossed her fingers in hopes that her new album would allow the public to discern Shoilee's genuine sincerity. As a young rising celebrity, Shoilee believed that it was crucial to express one's own uniqueness. When our editor asked her about the difference between recording singing and performing a song for an album, she replied that someone should be able to tell that it's you.

Caught between climate change, migration and social upheaval, Niger and the Sahel are the crucible of Western failure. As I detailed in “The Coming Anarchy”, the issue of climate change must be integrated with high population growth in the poorest countries, as well as with resource scarcities, disease spreads, weak or non-existent institutions, illogical borders, and inter-ethnic, sectarian disputes. While Africa is now 18 per cent of the world population, it will rise to 26 per cent by 2050, and is projected to be almost 40 per cent by 2100. Niger in 2004 with a platoon of US marines a decade after I had published “The Coming Anarchy”. The capital, Niamey, is tucked into the extreme south-west of a country that is largely encompassed by the Sahara Desert. As I headed north and east away from the capital on rutted dirt tracks, it was as if the country disappeared: no police, no signs of authority, nothing. When the French colonialists drew these borders in the 19th and early 20th cen

With the death toll from the Maui wildfires at 111 and as many as 1,000 still missing. Decades of neocolonialism in Hawaii have redirected precious water resources toward golf courses, resorts and other corporate ventures.  Now many Hawaiians say there is a power grab underway as real estate interests and other wealthy outsiders look to buy up land and water rights on the cheap. As people are still reeling from the loss of their family members, livelihoods and communities. “Plantation disaster capitalism is, unfortunately, the perfect term for what’s going on,” says Sproat, who just published a piece in The Guardian with Naomi Klein. The plantations, the large landed interests that have had control over not just the land, but really much of Hawaii’s and Maui Komohana’s resources for the last several centuries, They are using this opportunity, are using this time of tremendous trauma for the people of Maui, to swoop in and to get past the law. the destroyed city of Hawai It’s a name th

Forget The Stigma Fellas, Talking Openly About Eating Disorder Shouldn't be Shaming Firstwe had Anorexia along with Bulimia and now we have another couple which are rearing their ugly heads; Bigorexia and Binge Eating Disorder (BED). Now when we think of these particular types of issues we mainly, and typically, think of females being the typical sufferers of the problems, but why do we never think about it happening to males? Aside from Bigorexia which, as far as we have aware so far, has always been associated with males, it's so far and few in-between where we hear about them we think about the problem. Stereotypically we have frequently associated it with females. Bigorexia, as you can imagine gets associated with bodybuilders. Sadly this isn't something that gets discussed nearly as much as it should do. In fact it wouldn't surprise me if the much-needed conversations about this were about as quiet as the cases themselves. One of the reasons why, and I definitely b
